2014 Round-up

Posted on December 30, 2014 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography, Wedding Photography

So 2014 has drawn to a close, and it has been a lovely year. Not all the weddings have been blogged, for various reason, privacy, featured in magazines or on other blogs, etc. So here are a few highlights of the weddings that haven’t been blogged!

Manor House Hotel Moreton in the Marsh Wedding

Posted on September 27, 2014 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography, Wedding Photography

A beautiful wedding at the Manor House Hotel Moreton in the Marsh

This beautiful wedding at The Manor House Hotel Moreton was at what I believe is one of the nicest wedding venues in this area, the manor House hotel in Moreton in the Marsh. Tom & Frances got married outside on the lawn in a lovely ceremony, after Frances and her girls got ready in the little cottage in the grounds. The weather held for them all day and we got some amazing photographs of them, their guests and the location itself.

Truly a pleasure to be a part of such a lovely wedding.

Alice & Mark’s Wedding at The Greenhill Gallery, Warwickshire

Posted on August 25, 2014 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography, Wedding Photography

Alice & Mark got married on a day when the weather was not on our side! It started absolutely bucketing it down as Alice was leaving the house and arrived at the Church, but it soon cleared up and turned into a gorgeous day! Alice got ready at her home with her Mum, Dad and Pug to keep her company and it was such a relaxed lovely morning. The Ceremony went without a hitch and we all then travelled to the beautifully decorated Greenhill Gallery in Brailes for the wedding breakfast and reception.

A lovely, lovely day with friendly, happy people to photograph and spend the time with.

Anie & Nick, Ettington Park Wedding

Anie & Nick’s Wedding at Ettington Park

Anie and Nick’s beautiful wedding at Ettington Park was a real highlight of my wedding calendar. They were so much fun to photograph and both the Church in Alderminster and the hotel looked fabulous. It was a traditional, classical wedding and it was a delight to be a part of. The flowers were stunning and lined the beautiful staircase. They were also displayed wonderfully in the Long Gallery, where the wedding breakfast was held.

Anie & Nick surprised all their guests with a wonderful dance routine as their first dance and it was amazing!

Kayleigh & Alex’s Wedding at Ettington Chase

Posted on July 2, 2014 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography, Wedding Photography

Kayleigh & Alex’s Wedding at Ettington Chase

Kayleigh and Alex got married at the lovely Ettington Chase Hotel on a mixed sunny and rainy day in July. Kayleigh and her girls got ready at the hotel and the morning was a real giggle. The ceremony was lovely, although the hotel has a tendency to make the room extremely dark! The rain came as we were doing the group photographs, but it didn’t matter, I sheltered underneath and umbrella and we used the big beautiful arched dooryard to do the photographs in. As soon as the sun cam out we went straight out do the large group photograph and the all important confetti! I always say that the day has to be flexible around the weather if it is iffy, but it never interrupts the flow of the day, and it didn’t interrupt the guests or the couples enjoyment of the day and that is all that matters to me.

Abby & Matt – Chipping Campden & Alveston Manor Wedding

Abby & Matt – Chipping Campden & Alveston Manor Wedding

This beautiful wedding was held at the Chipping Campden Baptist Church and was really stunning. It was the first time I had been to a Baptist Ceremony let alone a wedding and I was blown away by how circular the couple were to proceedings. The prayers were so lovely with people gathered around the couple. Once the ceremony was over, everyone went outside into the gardens for scones, cake and tea and then we all traveled to the beautiful Alveston Manor wedding venue in Stratford Upon Avon,

Alveston Manor has a beautiful lawn that was prefect for photographs of the groups and the wedding breakfast room looked stunning. Abby & Matt were a wonderful couple to photograph, I very much enjoyed the day!

“The photos are lovely. Thank you so much for making the day so easy from a photos point of view. We really enjoyed working with you and I recommended you to my friend who is getting married next year and think she said she contacted you. We absolutely love the pictures you took and everyone who has seen them has thought they are brilliant. We are really pleased with them and it’s great to have such a good momento of the day.  Thank you again!” Abby

Jodie & Edward’s Brailes Wedding, Warwickshire

Jodie & Edward’s Brailes Wedding, Warwickshire

This beautiful Brailes wedding of Jodie and Ed is a real feast for the eyes! The flowers were stunning and the Greenhill Gallery in Brailes, Warwickshire was decorated so well. The wedding itself was held at Brailes Church and the walk up through theLime trees always makes for stunning photographs, I adore the one of Jodie & Ed leaving the Church especially. Being able to be at the front of the Church, as I can be in Brailes, makes such a difference. To be able to photograph the couples reactions, the rings and vows whilst looking at their faces rather than backs does make for lovely photographs, but obviously, we are always slightly dependant on the Church and Vicar!

The girls were a bundle of laughs and beauty when they were getting ready and the boys were such good fun. I photographed this wedding with my second photographer Chris and we both enjoyed the day so much. They were a lovely couple to photograph and share the day with.

Donna & Bekki’s beautiful wedding at Berkeley Castle

Berkeley Castle Wedding Photography

Berkeley Castle Wedding Photography 2014

This is the beautiful day of Donna and Bekki at Berkeley Castle. They are both in the Military and booked me whilst serving abroad via Your Perfect Wedding Photographer, and I am so glad they did.

I had never been before our initial meeting, and (after being told off by the guide for touching something I shouldn’t!) I was blown away by the huge Great Hall where the wedding would be taking place. They were such a fun group of people to photograph, including a surprise photograph of all of the other Military guests in hero t-shirts!

There were so many amazing spots to take photographs around the castle, we were split for choice. I left as the sun was setting and the dancing was getting rowdy, there must have been a few sore heads the next day…

“Dear charlotte I just wanted to say thank you so much for the beautiful photos you took of Bekki and Donna’s wedding, you captured the spirit of the day wonderful so pleased, Mandy” Bekki’s Mother

Sian & Olly’s sunny Ettington Chase wedding

Posted on May 17, 2014 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography

Sian & Olly’s sunny Ettington Chase wedding day

Sian & Olly got married in the sunshine at Newbold on Stour Church and then continued there wedding at Ettington Chase. Ettington Chase weddings are beautiful when we can be outside, and the front of the building makes for a lovely group photograph.

I have known Sian’s Father since I was a lot younger – he used to teach French at my school! And I have known Olly since he pranged his car into mine…! Sian got ready at her new home that she and Olly had bought a few months before the wedding, and I went down there to photograph her, her parents and her bridesmaids just before they left. There were a few dramas in the day, I shan’t say what as I know Sian doesn’t really want to re-live it all. Needless to say, a wedding with an ambulance at the reception is not one we are all going to forget in a hurry.

Sian looked absolutely stunning in her one shoulder dress and Olly was extremely dapper. The ceremony was lovely, and I am sure they all had a lovely evening after I had left them. Congratulations to you both, they say if it all goes wrong on your wedding day then your marriage will be trouble free!

A Perfect Country Wedding at Talton Lodge, Warwickshire

Posted on May 2, 2014 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography

The Perfect Country Wedding of Bryony & Richard, at Talton Lodge, Warwickshire

This is a very special blog for me to write and share because it involves talking about and sharing the beautiful day of the lovely Bryony & Richard at the wonderful Talton Lodge.

I have known Bryony all my life and have grown up closely with her, her sister Rowan and Mother, Carol, and I clearly remember the moment when they all came round to our house to tell us the exciting news of their engagement.

Richard told us that he had proposed at Gatwick, on their way to Venice, of which there is rumoured to be a video that I am yet to see! We cracked open some champagne and settled down for the details of the story of how it happened.

A few months before the engagement, I had taken a photograph of the two of them sat eating cake on the grass at the May Day Celebrations in our local village, and this was exactly how they wanted their day. Sunshine, eating cake on the grass, relaxed guests and informal photographs. They asked me to photograph the wedding, but also to make sure that I enjoyed myself as a guest, two things which I jumped at – the joy of photographing a special day AND being able to drink at the same time? Yes please!

As the time passed and the day got closer, I met with them to discuss the day which was to be taking place at a Church close to our hearts, St Marys, Whitchurch and the reception was to be held at Talton Lodge, just down the road. This meeting was good timing, may I add, as they just so happened to be Prosecco tasting for the wedding. It’s a wonder I knew where to go or what time the wedding was at all really…

The 4th of May, the wedding day, dawned bright and beautiful and I made my way to the Mother of the Brides house in Crimscote, which is just down the road from Talton Lodge. I was greeted by a rather emotional bride and the usual, wonderful chaos of the morning of a wedding. The flowers had been cut that day and arranged into pretty bouquets that were currently chilling in the fridge, the bridesmaids were getting dressed into their lovely summer dresses and a surprise was gathering outside.

Once Bryony was dressed into a stunning blue and white dress, made up with subtle make up and her hair was decorated with Lily of the Valley flowers, she walked out of the house arm in arm with her Father, Barry.

Bryony was greeted with the surprise of the local Morris Dancers, who, with one large cheer started playing their songs, dancing their dance and walking Bryony, her family and her bridesmaids up the winding, flower bedecked country lane to the St Marys Whitchurch.

Hopping in my car to beat the procession, I dashed to the Church to find scenes of joy as guests arriving at the church greeted the handsome and, just like the bride, slightly emotional groom, Richard.

As the Church filled up and the bell started to toll Bryony’s arrival, Richard made his way into the Church, where a good friend of theirs was taking the ceremony. I have to be honest that the ceremony was a blur of tears, flowers, laughter, kisses, cheers and some very loud singing (in both Welsh and English) and we then emerged with smudged eye make-up into the glorious sunshine underneath a Morris Men Guard of Honour. They danced outside whilst more hugs, kisses, tears and congratulations were poured over the bride and groom and both their families.

After confetti (picked and dried from their garden) held by smiling guests lining the pathway from the church was thrown, Bryony & Richard clambered up onto a trailer and were chugged away by tractor and disappeared into the keck laden countryside.

The reception was held at the amazing Talton Lodge House. This gorgeous wedding venue in the heart of Warwickshire is a venue of two halves, one side being teepees and bell tents, and the other being ‘the big house’. Bryony & Richard’s reception was held on the front lawn of the house and they had asked everyone to bring bunting to decorate the marquee; the building, the grounds and the marquee were positively singing in the May sun.

Bryony & Richard entered the reception by walking over a tiny bridge and up through the fields into the middle of their guests, which made for some lovely, intimate photographs of the two of them. From there on it was an afternoon on laughing, drinking, scones, more hugs, garden games, more kisses, macaroons, tea in vintage cups and saucers, photographing the mingling guests, a few informal group shots and not forgetting Richard and one of his best men’s inaugural Morris dance!

After cutting the cake and eating the most delicious wedding breakfast, the speeches were read and toasted with (yep, you guessed it) more tears, hugs and kisses, and laughter erupted from every inch of the marquee. I was lucky enough to be sat on the floor right at the front of the speeches, so I could capture every word, smile and cringe!

As night began to draw in and the band began to play, the first dance took place outside under the stars on the dewy grass with everyone watching the most in love couple swaying, swirling and moving to the music. Bryony began to spin around at one point and without knowing it would, her beautiful blue dress fanned out all around her. I will never forget the look on both of their faces at that exact moment.

After everyone had had a good dance and the night started to get colder, a large bonfire was lit, around which we all gathered to reflect on what had been the most glorious spring wedding day.

If ever there was a song to fit this wedding day, this is truly it… This really was The Perfect Day.
