A Collective Wedding Photoshoot

Posted on January 8, 2019 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography

In Autumn of 2018 myself, Amanda Luther Flowers and Elizabeth Ayers Bridal & Couture came together with the wonderful Olivia Ward as our model to do a wedding photoshoot.

It was the first wedding photoshoot I have ever done and I loved it! Amanda, Elizabeth and Olivia were a dream to work with, we laughed our way through the day and I am DELIGHTED with the results!

Here is a bit more information on the shoot from all of us, and I hope you like the photos as much as we do!

What was the inspiration behind the shoot?
Amanda – I’m inspired creatively by the countryside and the seasons. In the autumn the light is amazing and soft, flowers and foliage in the garden starts to change, colours become muted and dappled its as though the landscape is preparing to close down for the winter.I wanted to take that feel into the floral designs. To created a fantastic secret world , lost and then rediscovered.
Charlotte – The inspiration for me was to really have a chance to ‘play’. I have never done a wedding photoshoot before, I have only ever done real weddings, so it was so exciting for me to be able to really work with these fabulous ‘products’ and Olivia the model!
Elizabeth – The inspiration behind the shoot was to bring together three of the key suppliers to a brides big day. The three of us have the freespirited approach to weddings. Where the day is about relaxed, informal and breaking the boundaries of  formality.

Tell us a little bit about the venue and why it was chosen
Charlotte – I had never heard of it to be honest! Amanda knew Loongbourn, and when we went up there for a recede I could totally see why she had chosen it!
Amanda – I first came to know Longbourn barn in the summer when I was asked to do the  wedding flowers for a lovely couple that had their wedding reception there. It is a hidden gem really, very natural and not ‘staged’ at all you feel you can really make it your own for that special day and when it comes to designing flowers its a fabulous blank canvas.
Elizabeth – It is in natural surroundings with rustic charm we had the freedom to create the vintage look we wanted to achieve.
What did you choose for the flower arrangements?
Amanda – I always start designing with seasonal choices. The countryside around me will spark an idea. Looking around my garden I  then let what’s growing lead the way so I used a lot of herbs, berries, foliage, clematis and twigs. To compliment that I used soft tones of hydrangea, ranunculus and to bring in the romance of a wedding lots of roses. There are apples, eucalyptus, fern, Bouvardia, oak ,moss and lots more in there too. Bringing in the old car and the wild hanging willow and the scatted leaves and foliaged garlands  helped to pull it all together.
Charlotte – I will let Amanda take this one! All she had to say was “I have this Miss Haversham style shoot idea in my head” and I was sold!
What kind of look did you want to achieve with the make-up, hair and outfits for the bride and groom?
Elizabeth – The dresses I chose to use were by Marylise and Rembo Styling. These dresses are in contrast to the heavily structured dresses of many high street mainstream designers. The soft chiffon’s and crepe fabrics flow and drape creating  feminine, romantic and ethereal wedding dresses. It’s all about the movement and the emotional connection with these style of dresses. Charlotte And Amanda were perfect to do the flowers and photography as we all sing off the same page. Freedom of spirit, which I feel is echoed in may of today’s modern brides.
Charlotte – We let Olivia do what she wanted really with regards to hair and make up. I knew I could trust her! And we all knew the dresses from Elizabeth would be fantastic. We’d had a chat about the style we were after and having been to the venue, Elizabthe knew what would work.
What was the thinking behind the décor for the shoot? How did you tie it all together?
Amanda – Working with the beautiful dresses and the designers eye that Elizabeth Ayers brings and with Charlotte who brings the feel of things into her photography, is amazing and they really understood what I was trying to achieve. We created a lost romantic world. Olivia the stunning model bought it all to life, I was so impressed! Me? I just wondered about mumbling about Mrs Haversham.
Charlotte – We really wanted the dresses, flowers and the background of the venue to be the decor, so we left everything very natural. I think it all came together with Olivia though, she was a joy to work with and she just fell like she tied everything together. She was our missing part!

What kind of accessories were used to create these looks and why?
Elizabeth – Accessories used were mainly from the floral arrangements echoed with a flower or ring of flowers in the hair. Props were found around the venue and fitted in perfectly with the rustic charm.
Charlotte – We were so lucky that we had Longborn at our disposal to do anything we wanted really. We found THE MOST amazing pink chair that was brilliant for photographs and made some of my favourite shots and then the flowers really were the other main decor, well, that and that fab car that for some reason was in the barn!

2017 has been a fantastic year! Not only have I photographed some stunning weddings, but I have been slightly busy in my personal life… In July I gave birth to a beautiful little girl. Molly Elizabeth is absolutely wonderful and she has everyone wrapped around her very cute little fingers. I carried on working through my pregnancy and after as well! Below are some of the images of the great weddings I have worked at this year…

2016!

Posted on December 29, 2016 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography

2016 has been a rather big year for me as I actually got married myself! We both had the most amazing time and it was amazing to put all the ideas I had picked up from lots of weddings into my own! Before and after our wedding in May I photographed some stunning weddings; I went up to Yorkshire to photograph the lovely Paul & Louise who got married in the village Church and then we all walked alongside the steam trains to two Tipis that were esconsced on the village green. I was back at Charingworth Manor twice, once to photograph for the gorgeous Vikki & Adam and the second time was in december for the wintery wedding of Emma & Ramsey. I shot a lovely wedding in a local village with the most beautiful table decorations of planted up little pots filled with herbs and moses that made the marquee smell lovely. I also photographed at two new venues, one at Walton Hall & the other at Cotswold Hotel & Spa.

Below are some of my favourite shots form them all!

2015 – What a year!

Posted on December 30, 2015 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography, Wedding Photography

So 2015 has come to a close, and it has been an amazing year for work and weddings. Work gets so busy during the summer months and getting peoples weddings out to them quickly that I do fall behind on the blogging, which is a shame, but I think couples getting their photographs within 2-3 weeks is much more important than me showing my work off! Some weddings cannot be blogged for privacy reasons, or if they are being featured elsewhere.

One wedding that features prominently in here is the glorious day of Rachael & Paul, who got married at the School where they work, Tudor Hall. It was the most beautiful day and they actually booked the day around my availability!

So here are a few highlights of the weddings that haven’t been blogged in full on here before… Enjoy, and roll on 2016!

Avoncroft Museum Wedding

Avoncroft Museum Wedding

I have photographed two weddings for this fabulous family, I photographed Faith’s sister Ruth getting married at The RSC a few years ago. This Avoncroft Museum wedding for Faith and Chris’s was very different and special. I had such fun seeing them all again, and we all just laughed from start to finish!

Avoncroft Museum is the most amazing place filled with rescued buildings from the Medieval times, to Victorian and modern. It was a brilliant place for photographs, with so many places to choose from. The Windmill was a big favourite for Faith & Chris, so that was where we headed for the main group photograph of everyone and the confetti. The ceremony room was turned around quickly whilst we were all outside. Everyone then went back inside for a big cream tea and the speeches.
Chris and Faith were a joy to take pictures for and their guests only enhanced the day for me.

Talton House Wedding, Warwickshire

Posted on July 29, 2015 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography, Wedding Photography

Talton House Wedding, Warwickshire

Brett & Tiff chose Talton House for their wedding and I was so pleased when they asked me to be their photographer. I adore weddings at Talton, and the house and grounds couldn’t have fitted their day any better. They had a drinks reception on the lawn, where everyone bought sunflowers to hold and decorate the house with. They then had an intimate ceremony on the lawn under the towering Cedar trees.

Following this the drinks flowed even more and we took some beautiful group photographs with the lovely gardens as our backdrop. Brett & Tiff only wanted the ceremony covered, so once they were happy with everything that I had taken, I disappeared, but first stopped in to have a peak at the Giant Tipi’s over the road at Talton Lodge where they were having their reception – amazing!

I have photographed another wedding at Talton House, the perfect country wedding of Bryony & Richard. Click here to see the video I made of their photographs…

A Summer Wedding in Whichford

Posted on June 27, 2015 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography

A Whichford Wedding – The Bride rode to Church on a horse!

This year my amazingly talented, beautiful friend Verity married the love of her life, her wonderful husband Guy  at her family’s farm in Whichford and I want to share with you all this snapshot of the day.

Verity & Guy's Whichford Wedding

I was a bridesmaid, so my Father Chris Wright Photography took up the task of the main photography. I photographed us girls getting ready, with a hand from Verity and Sasha & Fran (the other bridesmaids) who photographed me when it was needed. Dad took over at the Church and photographed all of the formal group shots and the ones that I needed to be in. After that we shared responsibility for photographing the reception, with even my fiancé taking photographs during the speeches! The flowers were done by my good friend and favourite florist, Amanda Luther Flowers.

The results are amazing and the photographs are stunning, if I may say so myself!

I hope you all enjoy watching this as much as I do every time I see it…

Ben & Cheryl – Tredington Wedding, Warwickshire

Ben & Cheryl – Tredington Wedding, Warwickshire

This amazing Tredington wedding was one of my favourites from this year. It was an explosion of laughter, colour, sunshine and love. Cheryl got ready at her parents house just across the road from the Church and just down the road from the reception! I started the day by photographing her setting up the marque with her parents and brother and then we went and the make up, hair and dresses were all applied, done and put on. We drove down to the Church in Tredington where a very nervous Ben was waiting.

After a beautiful ceremony (where even I was in tears!) the three of us headed to a local beauty spot to take some lovely photographs of just the two of them. I always like to take my brides and grooms aside for photographs of just the two of them, as this makes them relax (because there aren’t 100 people then staring at them!) and they can have some time alone, which I think is extremely important for a couple. Normally we just find a quiet spot at the reception rather than disappear completely, but Cheryl really did want some photographs on that certain bride, and the photographs were really stunning, so it was well worth it!

We joined the guests who were tucking into the champagne at the marquee reception and this is where I mingle like I am a guest to get those real photographs of everyone having a great time. The main group photographs came next with the beautiful Warwickshire hills acting as the backdrop. Once these are done, the speeches were said (the best man nailed it!) and the food was served. The rest of the evening was a mix of football, more champagne, more laughter, dancing and some fantastic fireworks.

An all round brilliant day!

“The pictures are AMAZING babe me and Ben love them and can’t wait to show everyone!!! Thank you soooo much you are a star xxxx.” Cheryl, 29th June 2015

Peter & Renee’s RSC Tower Top Wedding

Posted on May 3, 2015 by Admin under Warwickshire Wedding Photography, Wedding Photography

Peter & Renee’s RSC Tower Top Wedding

This is the lovely wedding of Peter and Renee, who married at the top of the tower at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford Upon Avon. I first met Renee last year when we discussed the details, and since then I had been itching for the wedding to come around. Now, I don’t have much of a head for heights, but luckily I had plenty to concentrate on whilst the ceremony was taking place!

I photographed Peter, Renee, their children and bridesmaids all getting ready at their house in Stratford and I could tell from the offset that this was going to be a day enjoyed by all. The flowers had been delivered by the time I got there. They were done by good friend Amanda Luther Flowers, which were (of course!) stunning! Once everyone was dressed, we made our way into town and to the RSC. Peter arrived first which gave us time to take some groomsmen shots outside and then the beautiful Renee arrived. Once the group photographs were taken care of, we went inside and whilst the couple were having their interview with the registrars, the guests and I went up to the 8th floor of the tower to take in the amazing views and wait. There isn’t a great deal of space up there, and that was one of my worries, how to take those key photographs whilst not being in everyones way. The guests were split half and half round the corner, and luckily I managed to find a space right at the front whilst still being fairly inconspicuous. There were a lot of tears which was so lovely and the ceremony was stunning with those views in the background.

After the formalities were taken care of, champagne and canapés were served up there so that everyone could have a laugh, a chat, a catch up and of course stare at the 360 degree views of Stratford and the river Avon.

Once we were done up there we went down to the front of the theatre to take the group photographs and throw the all important confetti, which (being a windy day!) just shot straight up in the air! After I had photographed Peter & Renee by the river in the shade of a willow tree, we had time to sit and wait for the boat that was taking them to their reception. I even had a chance for an ice cream, bonus! I left them all as the boat was sailing down the river and I wish them both the very happiest of marriages.

“Hello!  Just LOVE the pics!! Thank you so so much!!!” “Thanks a million!  I just loved having you around, still smiling when I think of what fun we had!! Love the photos and online sharing!” Renee 24th May 2015
