The wonderful florist Lucy Walker Flowers based in Shipston on Stour, Warwickshire recommended me to Zoe & Miles to photograph their big day, and I am so happy she did. This was a glorious wedding on possibly one of the hottest days this year. It was a very relaxed day and the couple were a joy to photograph as they were at ease and full of smiles, apart from Miles who was rather nervous at the start!

The beautiful setting of Ettington Park Hotel nestled in the Warwickshire countryside was, and always is, the most beautiful setting for the photographs and as always the staff went to their upmost to make sure that the day ran well and smoothly. The dress was gorgeous, Lucy had done an amazing job with the flowers on such a hot day and the cake had been made by a friend of the bride and it was amazing!

This was the sort of wedding I wished didn’t have to end, it was a joy to be a part of.

Charingworth Manor Wedding

I have been to Charingworth Manor many times during my life, as I have always lived nearby, but it really comes into its own at a wedding. This was a lovely little wedding of a couple from Shipston on Stour. The ceremony room looked so pretty and the whole day was just glorious. The Bride, Becky, arrived in a fantastic blue Volkswagen Beetle and was full of smiles. Connor, the rather camera shy Groom wasn’t so keen on smiling for me, but he loosened up eventually! This was an intimate and gorgeous day that I was so pleased to have been a part of.

This was by far one of the sunniest days of the year we had had so far! Katie the bride was beautiful in a stunning, girly wedding dress, the groom Steve was extremely dapper and the lemon yellow colour was perfect for the day we had. The fantastic, ornate church of St James’ in Alveston, a lovely village just outside of Stratford Upon Avon was the setting for the ceremony with a brilliant Vicar taking the service!

The reception was at The Stratford Manor in Warwickshire and the Pimms was flowing from the get-go! The speeches were quite emotional, due to both Fathers of the Brides having past away, but nevertheless, after some tears, there were plenty of laughs and toasts around the room. During the evening the couple had opted for a couple of Casino games to entertain the guests, and what a good idea it was!

A Very Vintage Wedding!

This was a wedding that I had been looking forward to for a VERY long time! It was my very first Vintage Wedding, and my goodness it was a goodie. The bride wore a vintage 1940’s dress, not white but with a beautiful floral pattern on it. She had meticulously bought and found vintage items to decorate the lovely Church and Village Hall, all of which are now available to rent out as she has started up a business!

The whole stunning wedding was set in one village, Halford Warwickshire. The beautiful Bride, Nikki got ready at The Halford Bridge, the pub and hotel in the village, then we all walked down to Halford Church and then walked back up to the very quaint Village hall. They were all so much fun to photograph, the Groom and his men were brilliant in their shades at the reception! I could go on and on, but I shall let the photographs tell the story!

When I first heard from Kevin & Lorna they were after a photographer to capture the real and natural feel of their Humanist Wedding Ceremony. I said I would be delighted to be involved and after we had agreed that I would be their photographer, Lorna tentatively asked if I was ok with horses, as Harold, her beloved Cob might be making an appearance. How fantastic! After that I knew it was going to be a wedding I would enjoy!

Set in the beautiful Village Hall in Rowney Green, Worcestershire, the Humanist Ceremony was actually the first I had ever attended. It was lovely; so personal and very touching. Before and after the ceremony, Lulabelle the Pink VW Campervan was outside with teas, cakes and scones being served in/on stunning vintage crockery, there was a Polaroid camera with funny props for the guests and the first dance was more of a collective dance as they had a brilliant Ceilidh.

On Thursday 2nd of May I received a phone call from Adam, he was after my services as a Wedding photographer at the prestigious Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford Upon Avon, Warwickshire. That’s brilliant I replied, I have wanted to photograph a wedding there for a long time! Adam told me the details, that he and Ruth were having a small ceremony in The Reading Room at the Swan Theatre, with just 13 close family members and friends and then a cruise on the River Avon on a Bancroft Cruise boat. I said it sounded beautiful, and asked “So when is the wedding?”

8 days later there we were!

Adam and Ruth and all their family were so much fun to photograph; skipping, dancing and laughing their way through the day. I had an absolute ball. The Theatre was beautiful setting for photographs, we got hijacked by tourists whilst outside, but that all added to the fun! The Cruise boat was just lovely, with Ruth doing her best Kate Winslet impression trough the lock! I hope you all enjoy looking at the photographs just as much as I enjoyed taking them.

So this was the first Wedding of 2013 and it was held in a tiny, gorgeous little Church just off the Fosse Way called Tidmington Church. It was so cute and having lived here all my life, I had never actually spotted it before! The reception was at the stunning local venue The Greenhill Gallery at Brailes Golf Club just outside Shipston on Stour.

The couple were so smiley and really up for a laugh! I knew so many people there that by the end I was barely working and just enjoying myself.

Stratford Upon Avon Registry Office Wedding

This was the day that half of Warwickshire was under water!

The day started well, pouring down with rain, welly’s at the ready, flood warnings everywhere, but as the bride appeared in a bright orange VW Campervan, out came the sun!

Although it didn’t last too long, the weather did hold off. The ceremony was at Stratford Upon Avon’s Registry Office and the reception was at two venues, The Gate pub in Brailes and the Shipston Hub. There was a small hiccup in proceedings that we couldn’t get to the reception venue via the normal route, so after checking out lots of other roads. We eventually got there well after dark, so the photographs then, unfortunately taken inside, but do these look like a bunch to be downheartened!? It was a brilliant day, and most of Shipston Excelsior Football Club Sunday reserve’s showed their true colours whilst performing the Macarena…!

Stratford Upon Avon Town Hall Wedding, Warwickshire

I had known Caroline for around 3 years before I photographed her Wedding and what a day! It was a beautiful autumnal day and a stunning autumnal wedding. The colours were amazing and the marquee was too. I had never met David, but he was so nice and friendly, I so enjoyed photographing their big day.

The ceremony was in the stunning Stratford Upon Avon Town Hall, which is just gorgeous. The reception was at Caroline’s parents house, just outside of Stratford.

My day began just before lunch with Caroline and her bridesmaid Francesca getting ready at the Church Street Townhouse in Stratford. It was a flipping dark room, but lovely! Having known of, but not been in the Townhouse before, I was very impressed. Once the bride was ready in a beautiful dress made by especially for Caroline by Elizabeth Ayers with a real vintage feel. All buttoned up, we went outside, where the rain was holding off to get into the rather snazzy wedding car, a Rolls Royce Phantom! The speeches were very moving, due to the loss of a family member recently, but they picked up in the form of the best man giving a very colourful speech, with highs, lows, laughs and a bit of choking back tears. And then onto the first dance, and what a dance it was when everyone joined in!

This was a glorious summer wedding. The bride and bridesmaids looked stunning in HAND MADE dresses by her Mum! The finishing touches were actually being made the morning of!

Gemma & Jason’s day started with me getting the brides parents house for all the preparations. Gemma’s Mum Lucy had actually made the whole wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses, it was stunning and tweaks were being made even as I was arriving!

Then we were all off to St Gregory’s Church, for a really nice service with both the English & Irish sides of the family being represented brilliantly in the readings. Gemma & Jason were a perfect couple to photograph in a ceremony, some people can be quite closed off.

After the ceremony we went to Alveston Pastures wedding venue for the reception, a brilliant venue for the DIY couple! Some stunning group shots ensued, and then onto the food and flowing drinks, The speeches were very hard to photograph. The top table was in front of a huge window with the sun right behind it, but I was still very happy with what I tookt. There was a eloquent speech from the brides father, David, a very nervous bestman, who really did ace it, and a loving speech from the groom, who had nearly everyone (including myself!) in tears ”My love, my life, my wife.” Call me soppy, but I don’t think I will ever forget that actually.
