A Surprise Kenilworth Wedding!
A Surprise Kenilworth Wedding
So here is a different one for you! This Kenilworth wedding was a total surprise for the guests and even members of the couples family!
I will tell you the story…. So Sarah & Matt had been together for a good 10 years I believe. Now Sarah never wanted to get married, but, whilst on holiday in New York, Matt got down on one knee in Central Park and proposed. Needless to say Sarah said yes, but this left them with a slight dilemma; How to have a wedding, with out actually having a wedding? 2 yeas later and an email pops into my inbox asking if I photograph private parties? “I do” I say, “Tell me more.” And this was the reply – “It is a strange event and probably not something you will ever see again! We are holding our 10year anniversary/engagement party (2years late!). We have a surprise in store for all of the guests as we will actually be getting married. The guests are unaware (other than parents) of the little twist so my plan for photography is to capture the excitement/surprise of the guests. The guests have always been told that we are not interested in getting married so hopefully should not guess the surprise!”
Well, you count me right in! Sounds like great fun! And wasn’t it just!
Sarah looked gorgeous in a little back cocktail dress to meet the guests, while Matt was in a grey suit. Halfway through the ‘party’, Sarah disappeared and Matt ushered everyone into a room that was set up with popcorn and a big screen to all watch a 10 minute video on the couples life. Thanking everyone for being a part of their journey, showing photographs of their life together and ending up with the question “And what next?” Lo and behold, up starts the wedding march, in comes Matt, out come the waterworks and in glides Sarah! The rest of the day took care of itself, and I left a happy, yet still somewhat bewildered marquee behind as the food was being served. Enjoy the photographs, we did!
“Hi Charlotte, I don’t like the photographs, I love them! I can’t stop looking at them, you’ve captured everything so when we look through the book it’s like reliving the day. Thanks you so much, Sarah” Sarah, 23rd March 2014

Sarah & Richard – Ardencote Manor Wedding, Warwickshire
Sarah & Richard, Ardencote Manor Wedding, Warwickshire
This was a really special day for me, as well as Sarah & Richard. This lovely couple had actually won my services in my very first wedding fair at Ragley Hall. I ran a competition, in which 100 people entered and luckily these two were picked out the hat, and I couldn’t be more pleased! It was also my first outdoor wedding!
The day started photographing Sarah getting ready with her girls at her house in Redditch. It was an extremely fun morning, filled with laughter and champagne and a rather hilarious moment when Sarah realised she had put the ‘I do’ stickers on the wrong way round, so her shoes actually said ‘Do I’! Richard’s parents house is just done the road, so after a short walk I turned up just in time to show the boys how to sort their ties!
Once all the preparations were done to both the bridal and grooms party we travelled to the stunning Ardencote Manor. This is one of my favourite venues in Warwickshire, they really do go above and beyond. The ceremony was outside by the lake, with the blossom from the tress acting like confetti during the entire ceremony. The rest of the day passed quickly and with so much love and laughter. This was a couple I wish I could spend another day with, and thankfully, some friends of theirs have booked me for a wedding this November, so I get to see them again!
I hope you enjoy this small selection of photographs as much as the person taking them, and the people in them did x

Robyn & Philip’s Halford Wedding, Warwickshire
Robyn & Philip’s Halford Wedding, Warwickshire
This wedding took place in the beautiful village of Halford, Warwickshire, the village in which, Robyn, the bride had grown up. This being the case, the reception was at her parents house, which was just a short walk to the Church. Robyn looked stunning in a white dress whit a silk overcoat, it was perfect for a wedding so early in the year and check out those boots! The flowers were done by my friend, the fantastic florist www.amandaluther.co.uk, the Church looked amazing. The couple are really into their racing, and a ‘Racing Post’ had been bought that morning and was used for the table plan!
Carole & Dud’s marriage at Ettington Park Hotel
This is the beautiful early Spring day wedding of Carole & Dud. They married in a lovely ceremony at Ettington Park Hotel and then we all had drinks outside in the sunshine. Carole & Dud are so much fun, and I have seen them at local events many times since. Only those two would get on bikes and go for a cycle mid-wedding day!
Tom & Leanne’s beautiful wedding day
This was a lovely wedding that was taken for two friends of mine from Shipston. It was a gorgeous day full of friendly people and familiar faces. Leanne looked stunning in her dress and Tom was extremely dapper in his suit.
The day started very windy and wet and I thought that it was going to be my very first wedding in the rain, but lo and behold, as Leanne came down the stairs, the clouds cleared and the sun came out! It stayed very windy though!
It was the most lovely wedding day to end my wedding season on, I even managed to let my had down and have a good boogie!

I met with Hayley & Marc about their forthcoming wedding at Dunchurch Park Hotel around 18 months before, and could not wait from that day to get photographing at such an amazing venue! Hayley & Marc were such a nice couple to photograph, they let me into their day completely and it really showed in the photographs. Their family and friends were hilarious, and I laughed from the beginning of the day until the end.
Hayley looked stunning in her dress, and Marc was extremely dapper. The page boys were great fun, and real characters, and the whole day was made even better by the weather and venue. What a great day to be a part of.
“Hi Charlotte – Thank you so much for sending through the photos, we are really pleased with them they look lovely.” Hayley, 21st October 2013
Warwick Registry Office & Brailes Church & Village Hall, Warwickshire
Warwick Registry Office & Brailes, Warwickshire
This was a great day to be a part of, two venues can only of course mean two things – two fabulous dresses!
The wedding day started in Warwick registry office with the first of the days dresses. Debbie looked gorgeous in a short, very different wedding dress, with stunning lilly’s in her hand. We went outside after the ceremony to take some lovely shots, including one that I just am SO envious of, look at those legs! That my friends, is what Zumba can do for you!
We then all travelled to the gorgeous Church in Brailes, Warwickshire (after a quick outfit change!) where the marriage was blessed and then we went on down to the Village Hall in Brailes for the reception. The Village Hall was transformed, and looked so lovely. It was the perfect place for a really intimate wedding reception. Debbie & Stephen were surrounded by people that they loved and who very obviously loved them just as much back, I know they will have a fantastic time together in their marriage.
“Had a quick look through and they are fab. Thanks so much. Almost worth doing it again for the great pics you did x” Debbie

Henley in Arden & Ardencote Manor, Warwickshire, Wedding Photography
Ardencote Manor, Wedding Photography
This was just the most amazing day! From the very beginning to the very end I had a ball, it just doesn’t even feel like work sometimes. When the couple and their guests are this happy and this relaxed the day runs so smoothly. Anyway, to the details…
The lovely marriage service for Jenny & Simon was held at St Nicholas’s Church in Henley-in-Arden, Warwickshire. I had never been to the Church before and I was blown away by it’s beauty, what a little gem of a Church. Oddly, the arch that was above where the ceremony took place was off centre, so I had to sneak down and photograph actually only about 3 rows from the front. This made for some of the best rings/kiss photographs I have ever taken, and the archway outside was so nice to photograph against!
After some lovely photographs and a short drive we all arrived at the Ardencote Manor. They were one of nicest venues I have ever worked at, I really can’t recommend their wedding venue and staff highly enough. The weather was close to breaking all day, but luckily it held off so we had ample time and places to get some stunning photographs (if I do say so myself!).
Like I said, the whole day flowed so smoothly and amongst many things, the reason I will never forget this day was the Groom’s speech. So clever, poignant and yet with touches of humour in there too; it was so moving and I have relayed it to anyone that will listen, which has made them all get as watery eyed as we all were on the day. Thank you both for choosing me, what a blessed day!
“Hi Charlotte. the photos are amazing! Simon and I have spent all morning laughing and crying at them. They really told the whole story of our wedding day and all the people in it. I cannot thank you enough and I will recommend you to everyone I know. Xx” Jenny, 30th August 2013

Stratford Upon Avon Town Hall & The Swans Nest, Warwickshire
Stratford Upon Avon Town Hall & The Swans Nest
This lovely wedding was in my home town of Stratford Upon Avon in what I think is one of the best ceremony rooms around, Stratford’s Town Hall. It is stunning. The bride arrived with her Father in a stunning car and looked beautiful. There was a lovely number of guests, and all were so happy, smiley and relaxed. After the ceremony we made our way down to The Swans Nest by the River Avon, and we went outside to do the photographs down by the river. The theme for the reception was nautical and it worked so well, the room looked fab. The day was so lovely and so nice that it was all in Stratford, I do think the town lends itself so well to weddings. Amy, Andrew and all their family and friends were a joy to photograph and I wish them every happiness in their marriage!
“Thank you so much for the photographs, they are fantastic, really lovely! I haven’t stopped looking at them. You have captured the day so well!” Amy Krasnowski, 28th August 2013
